In our 4th webinar we talk about the very important topic of tics and sleep.
Sleep problems are very frequently reported by children with neurodevelopmental conditions such as TS and ADHD, and cause significant quality-of-life impairment. New investigation of new treatment options is therefore paramount.
Our guest today is Dr Emily Ricketts, who is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA Child OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Program within the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Her research interests center on sleep and circadian disturbance and intervention (i.e., behaviour therapy, light therapy, novel and alternative therapies) in youth and adults with persistent tic disorders, body focused repetitive behaviour disorders, and OCD.
For more information on the topic of sleep and tics, please consult Dr Ricketts' Sleep Disturbance in Tourette's Disorder: Potential Underlying Mechanisms, as well as:
The Frontiers editorial office will be able to provide more information/answer any questions.
